Alternative DNS provider OpenDNS has grown increasingly popular among our users, particularly in instances where their own ISP has bungled DNS management. Given that the outfit is now resolving roughly 7 billion DNS queries per day and serves about 2 million search pages per day, Techcrunch (http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/07/20/opendns-makes-20kday-filtering-phishing-and-porn-sites/) notes that OpenDNS is now bringing in a cool $20,000 per day from its search relationship with Yahoo. In an age where ISPs are consistently complaining about capacity investment, one wonders what kind of returns they'll see from the new push toward DNS redirection advertisements (http://www.corpsman.com/shownews/90502) (most implementations of which are also powered by Yahoo).
