This may be old news for some, but many have 'not' seen the video.

This new $82 million simulator for Navy recruits is just one of the many tests our daughters and sons will be go through before becoming a proud Navy Sailor! According to Jeff Yoders with Building Design and Construction, "As water and fire sprays into the ship's hull, sailors have to scramble to crawl through twisted metal and plastic and pull a wounded shipmate out of the debris and smoke and carry him up a ladder to safety." This is a very cool video that shows you a short glimpse of what Recruits will go through, during this exciting and very educational challenge.

Very cool. I was in the "unaware" category in regards to this bit of information, haha. I am really glad you posted this video. Thank you so much ^_^

Alex;

How have you been? Missed you while you were at RTC. Are you at Corpsman 'A' school now?

ooh embarrassing story time!

I was the thrower... I missed the dock.. Hit the wall, got stuck to it. Fixed it but still I was as my wife would put it "a sad panda."

Hey guys the picture above is marlin spike but when you click the link above the pic in the back ground it shows video of the USS TRAYER which is battle stations 21. Im actually very suprised that they even have that much of video because before we go in we have to sign a page 13 to not talk about it unless they have actually passed battle stations ! ..... but at the end of battle stations its worth every exhausting moment you had to go through in boot camp and battle stations ... for me the ball capping ceremony meant a lot more to me then my actual graduation theres something about it that hits every sailor hard!

I was the last class to go through battle stations legacy... They made us sign a page 13, and they wouldn't let us see the new one. From what I am hearing this version is more realistic to the fact that its actually a ship. Legacy was more of a physical endurance and sleep deprivation tactic. We still did a lot of cool stuff, looking back at it now that is. Mass casuality drill was awesome... oh, along with the egress....

Looks better than the old one I went through. I was kind of bored with the first one.

My Division did the old Battle Stations too easily, IMO.

Then again there were a couple guys close to my age (29 at the time) and one older (34) at the time. We just took control and sailed through it all.

I'd like to go back and do the new one. I think it would be fun. :)

I did battle stations on the 18th ... I have to say that it was tough until it was easy. Everything's easy with a team though.
