Once again, as has been historically true, we reduce the forces we will need for defense, and then empower congressional commissions and think tank specialists to figure out why the military struggles to meet its obligations. Check the loss of ASW ability over the past 10 years.

I read today that the President has told the new SecDef to present a plan to expand the number of ground forces serving on active duty. Both Army and Marine. If a new Marine Division is created, how many corpsmen billets will that absorb from the the Naval hospitals? Do you think that NCS corpsmen would be more favorably considered for active duty extensions? Where might a new Marine division be home based?

Let the speculation begin.
