Physical therapy is painful. Having had my ankle immobilized for 6 weeks and now moving it is painful. But not having to lug that stupid cast around any more is AWESOME!!! ;) (As of yesterday morning!)
I'm being told that in 4-6 months I SHOULD be able to run again. Right now I don't care (I really do want to run though!), I'm just happy that I can walk on 2 feet again (even if it is still with the assistance of the crutches at the moment!)

I wore a cast for 6.5 months -- yes, months...:(

By the time I got the cast off I only had about 5% mobility in the joint - - rusted solid if you will...

Regardless of the annoyance, inconvenient, and pain -- Do the damn physical therapy and rehab exercises and avoid over exerting the injury as it heals.

Be aggressive with rehab and incorporate it into your daily routine and down time (ie when watching TV). Push yourself, but don't cripple yourself. If you need to workout, try swimming or develop an exercise plan with the doctor. What you do in the next few months will impact you for the rest of your life. Too little, you'll be screwed. Too much, you'll be screwed.

Good luck!;)

Thanks Chief! Yes, I'm definately going all out on the physical therapy, following the therapist's instructions. Right now it's just movement exercises at home, but I'm sure he'll give me more to do! I'm so bored sitting at home, I just want to be able to go back to work (never thought I'd say that!).
