Wow did I have "flashbacks" while visiting Guthrie Oklahoma. There is a retired Navy Corpsman who served in both WW2 and Korea and later became a frontier town pharmacist. Those of us who were old school Pharmacy Technicians can really relate to all the compounding and dispensing stuff. Remember when companies like Lilly, et al would give Pharmacy decorations and tools? Surrounding stores and families have donated a lot of pharmacy history. He has the most complete display of old drugs and homeopathic medicines as I have ever seen. Ever see tincture of cannabis or heroin? These drugs were not controlled in the early days. He has territorial pharmacy licenses for relatives of Sam Walton of Wal-mart. Pharmacists in small towns also carried extensive vetinary medicines and supplies. He even has a soda fountain that was used when the Pharmacy was active. If you tell him your a Corpsman I bet he will give you a personal tour as he offered me. The Frontier Pharmacy is worth visiting and is supported by visitor donations only.

Found another gem. Went to Clairmore, Ok and stayed at the Will Rogers Ranch state museum. It cost $10.00 a night as a donation and they had water and electric for RVrs. It was beautiful, overlooking the Oogalah Lake. WE were in the midst of chickens, goats, donkeys, Texas longhorns and very inquisitive peacocks. His main museum, 10 miles away, is a very beautiful and thoughtful monument to his wonderful life. I wish Will Rogers was alive today. His humor and insight would go a long way to straighten out a lot of our politicians and Country ailes. Looking forward today to a warm Kansas spring day complete with snow. Well, we want to go to Dodge City and find Matt Dillon and Kitty. We will see. As WR said, " I have always felt that the best Doctor in the world is a vetinarian. He cant ask his patients what is the matter-he" got to just know."
