I'm loving this - you guys are WAY too funny :dude:

Hey Pardue get your numbers right before you put them up, I went 3 and 1 this round you went 2 and 2 so the standings are.
Pardue 6-2
Newt 4-4
So I see that you are playing it safe yet again and taking all the home teams, nice move old dog. Which is fine I need to go 2 for 2 and need you to go 0 for 2, so here goes Newt's picks.
Saints -vs- Bears
Fire up the Gumbo, get the beads, and grab your favorite adult beverage because the party is on Bourbon Street, thats right I'm taking the Saints. The best defense is a great offense, and the Saints have the best in the NFL, and it will go marching into the windy city and then down to Miami for the biggest game in football.
Patriots -vs- Colts
The big game and Peyton Manning equals choke fest and this time it comes at home as one of the best big game QBs brings his team into in Indy and leaves with a W and yet another Super Bowl.
So just to recap thats SAINTS and PATRIOTS, just incase Pardue gets confused.
DOC_Newt
01-16-2007, 08:58
Hey Poolzer looks like you pulled a 2 for 2 so since the Pats beat the best in the AFC they should have no problem with audible boy and his little ponys, right.
Who do you like in the NFC? I'm on the Saints party bus.

Newt
Go back and check the last two weeks. I was 4-0 week 1 and week 2... I am 3-1. You followed my lead and picked the same teams I did, how did I lose 2 games. I did go back and changed the totals for you as I messed up. I was just so excited from kicking your ass againdo you see where I am 7-1 and you are (Pardue falls down and is rolling on the floor laughing) 5-4
mmmmm, two games left next week, and then the superbowl (I would have to lose all three for you to tie me), being the football genius that I am...I don't think that is going to happen...
are you ready to give up and concede?????
Doc_Pardue
01-16-2007, 22:59
Newt
What is our bet anyway? Besides being crowned Football Genius for 2006 what are we going to lose? You know old people their memories aren't that great...LOL.
I think you said something about a photo of either you wearing Army clothing or me wearing Navy clothing if we lost. Or was there something else...?
Just know, I am as sharp as Barney...nothing gets by us old guys...
DOC_Newt
01-17-2007, 07:14
Hey old dog week one "wild card weekend" I took the Chiefs, Cowboys, Jets and Eagles and went 1-3, week two "divisional playoff" I took the Colts, Saints, Bears Chargers and went 3-1 which makes me 4-4 where the heck are you getting this extra game? And "wild card weekend" you took the Colts, Seahawks, Patriots, and Eagles and went 4-0, "divisional playoff" you took the Ravens, Saints, Bears, and Chargers and went 2-2 which makes you 6-2. Maybe you are thinking the Colts are still in Baltimore but they're not they moved to Indy over 20 years ago.
So here you go I'll do the math long hand for you.
[color=black]Newt week 1 1 win 3 losses
week 2 3 wins 1 losses
so 1+3=4wins & 3+1=4 losses which is 4-4 for Newt
Pardue week 1 4 wins 0 losses
week 2 2 wins 2 losses
so 4+2=6 wins & 0+2=2 losses which is 6-2 for Pardue
Do I need to brake it down anymore Barney style for you or what?
The bet was that the loser has to post their picture in a shirt and hat of the winners branch of service as the default picture for a 30 day period.

Alright, alright, us old guys might not always be right, but we are never wrong... oh well, I still must be doing something right as I am still winning, by the way, I did not fare too badly on the college bowl games either, I did tie for 2nd place. Overall, you need to understand that I did love the colts when they were in Balitmore with Johnny U but having lived in TN when Peyton Manning played for Tennessee I like the Colts. I just forgot he played for Indy, I was regressing where the Colts were. No excuses mine you. I am still going to be the Football Genius for 2006. I do concede that we are sitting at
Pardue 6-2 and you are 4-4, good luck but know you are going down sonny...

Heyold dog I'm not hiding in a closet and an internet guessing game isn't everything, unlike some one, but all that aside I went out on a limb and went for the tie and the limb broke oh well, hey enjoy this one, while I enjoy life. By the way the Bears will win the Super Bowl not Payton and his little ponys. And don't worryI'll keep up my end of the deal, so look for the picturea day or two after theSuper Bowl, I need to find a place around here that sells Army trash since this is a Navy city.

SUPERBOWL
Doc_Pardue
01-25-2007, 06:29
The following is the winning entry from an annual contest calling for
the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term. This year's
term:
Political Correctness.
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical
liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream
media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to
pick up a turd by the clean end.
Or
That the Bears are going to win the Superbowl

Thanks for remembering...can you tell me how many days ago was the superbowl, Newby promised one or two days after the superbowl his photo would appear in Army clothing...I quess he is still looking...but I would be happy to see him in a Colts shirt...how about it Newt?
Chief...it is not Football god of 2007 but Football Genius of 2007. Won the NFL and tied for 2nd in college bowls. If I could only see Newby in a Colts shirt it would be like sunshine on a winter day.

I do have an extra snow shovel for sale if you want to shovel the driveway. I haven't been in snow since before the 68 blizzard in Chicago, we had drifts over our house...I don't miss it at all. I remember being in Pittsburg once and going down hill in the snow and trying to stop for a stop sign at the bottom of the hill. I did stop but I was facing the wrong way when I did.
