I have been lurking and found this site to be very helpful.
I just got back from MEPS today. I did prettywell on the ASVAB (90) and qualified for a lot of different things. They went through a long list of other things trying to get me to bite on something they have a harder time filling. I wanted HM and got HM. DEP in April. The contract is still open a little as they are waiting on some of my college transcripts to determine entry rank.
When they were going through the list, they offered me SEAL and the bonus that goes with it. But I said I wanted HM. They didn't offer SEAL HM and I didn't ask. Is the rating still something you can get in your enlistment contract? If you ask for SEAL HM and get selected for it in A-School do you still get the bonus?
I just want to understand all my options before I sign the final contract in April.
