Hello, shipmates.
I've just finished Corps School (NHCS). I'm taking 14-day leave before reporting to Camp Lejeune (FMSS), but I have to do PSI at the Naval Clinic Camp Lejeune before reporting to FMTB.
I just received a letter from the Department of Homeland Security stating that I have an appointment for an interview to obtain my U.S. citizenship. I believe that my class starts on October 20th (and my interview is on Oct. 23rd at Naval Base Great Lakes).
Is there any chance I could take 1 day leave the first week of class at FMSS to go to my interview? Who should I need to talk to now?
My first concern is to fulfill my duties with my training, but it's a pain in the butt to re-schedule a interview with D.O.H.
Any advice would be appreciated.

a. Not to break OPSEC, but are you still in G.L. , already on leave, or in C.L.?

If in G.L., take that letter to your COC IMMEDIATELY and explain the circumstances.

If on leave already or at C.L., call the COC for the PSI duty __and__ FMTB and explain the circumstances.

Ensure that all of your chains of command are informed and see if the appointment can either be done at Camp Lejune during your FMTB or if your orders can be changed.

Get all of your information such as a meeting with COC in writing to cover your a$$ in case of a mix up. Please note the seriousness of not dealing with this properly: if done wrong, you can be taken to Captain's Mast for FFD or AWOL if you miss the day without permission.

I agree with the advice given.. you need to talk to your COC ASAP. Especially since it is a Dept of Homeland Security thing.

You might need to re-sched your appt for the interview. I know that sucks.. but The Navy Training comes first..

Get with your Leadership ASAP!
