Hi Everyone,
Just curious...
There is a graduation from boot..is there a graduation ceremony from corpman school?
So I hear when we find out the graduation date in boot, we have to notify our family and they have to book plane tickets. How much advance notice can they get of the date? The reason to fly from the east coast to IL is expensive so the more notice , the better. Also, does anyone know what airport they would fly into? Is there anything we could leverage to give them discounts with plane tickets? Thanks.

Yes there is, however it is not as elaborate as the RTC Pass In Review.

You will be given ample notice. Each Recruit actually sends a 'packet' of graduation information, with links to a website for discounted hotels. If I recall correctly, airfare is charged at the normal rate,

Chicago Ohare. You will need to rent a car and drive about 30 minutes or so to get to RTC. There also is a train available which is fairly inexpensive, and stops 1/4 mile from the graduation spot on RTC.

For travel information and discounts through Morale, Welfare& Recreation (MWR) (http://www.mwrtravelplus.com/)please refer to the Friends & Family Brochure sent out by your recruit or use this web site.

We used priceline.com. Although, there is expedia.com, cheaptickets.com travelocity.com etc.. Note: Tickets purchased through these companies are not refundable.

Be advised, at the Recruit Training Command (http://www1.netc.navy.mil/nstc/rtcgl/index.html) website, parents, friends and spouses can view online, graduation dates (http://www1.netc.navy.mil/nstc/rtcgl/family/upcominggrad.html), based upon your Training Group and division numbers. You will know this information during your 'P' days, which is the first week of your arriving at RTC.
