Hoooyah Benfold!!!! Rendell, I am in the same situation, I would love to be active duty.
I tried going from reserve to Active and was told no by the HMCS at Pers.
I was told I needed to have a little more time for them to consider it as I haven't paid them back enough.
I am now leaving for a deployment in two weeks, and when I get back in late 09, there is another deployment that my command is going on in early/mid 2010.
Hopefully that's enough for them.

I have the same question. I have been trying to mob and working with HMC-FMF-PJ but what about going active duty?

Possibly FTS?
If you are looking to convert to FTS, you will need to complete a package and submit through your career counselor. You can search the MILPERSMAN articles on npc.navy.mil to locate the FTS section.

Probably a dumb question but, is it even a remote possibility to transfer to Reserve Duty (NCS, FTS, etc.) before my EAOS? I'm half-way through an overseas tour and honestly was better off before the navy, just looking to make life easier (financially at least)
NCS - no, as it was an intial enlistment program originally and is no longer offered. FTS - yes, you need to complete an package and submit through your career counselor BUT such a program is for Reservists on Active Duty Full Time for the purposes of training Reservists. You would essentially be doing the same job you are now, but for a different community.
