John is a great friend of mine and he and I have shared alot. He is a hero in my eyes because of his actions as a medic in Vietnam. John, like me, became a cop after Vietnam. He has listed every medic and corpsmen who were killed in Vietnam on his web site. He recently had some cancer removed and this is a follow up. He and Carol sure could use your prayers and a short note wishing him a speedy recovery. Please take a moment and send him an email I know that that would help him alot...after all, We are Docs Helping Docs

This is from John Dennison's wife Carol...

Just wanted to give you the latest on John. He went for a MRI of his brain today and fortunately that turned out OK, but when they did the CT of his lungs, pelvis and abdomen again, they found that the spots in his lungs are now a bit larger and his liver is also now involved. His urologist ordered a CT of his lower lumbar area and today they found a Lytic lesion on L5 vertebrae and are talking about essentially cementing it to repair it, called a Vertebroplasty. He has to go for MRI of his entire spine tomorrow to see the full extent of the latest problem and then the MUGA scan for checking his heart to determine if it can take the toxic treatments. The Baltimore doctor that we are supposed to see on January 22nd asked John's oncologist to order a skeletal bone study and another bone scan when they talked today. I don't know when that will happen. They are also talking about radiation for his spine problems. He has so much nuclear stuff going through him that he will probably glow.

We called and made hotel reservations for the Baltimore consultation on January 22nd, in case Baltimore gets into the playoffs and they have a game there, we wanted to be sure to have a room. So far the courses of high dose Interleukin 2 at the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center ICU is still going to be scheduled...... So much is going on here..... nothing good lately.

Just wanted to update you on the latest....... sure wish I could be sending out good news. Please keep the prayers coming.....

Carol
