Are officer corpsmen able to go FMF and SARC?Do they get to stay in the field, or do they get stuck withadministrative work quickly?I am close to getting my degree, so I would like to learn about the possibilities of being an officer SARC. Thanks.

The Navy has 4 Staff Corps Officer billets for medical:

Medical Corps-Doctors
Dental Corps- Dentists
Nurse Corps-glorified corpsmen (ok, Registered Nurses)
Medical Service Corps- Pharmicists, PA's, Physical Therapists, and dozen or so other administrative fields.

All can and do have FMF billets in their related fields and can earn their FMF pin.

As far as being a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC), I believe that is just a command collateral duty.

Poolzer is right, SARC is a Command collateral .

Thanks Poolzer!

I think he meant Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman (SARC) HM-8427

Since officers are not Corpsmen, the easy answer is that it is impossible to be an "officer SARC". There are, however, a few medical officers that are pretty immersed in the community. While they are not trigger pulling "operators", they can still get forward deployed to far off distance posts well away from the hospital and traditional office space for a couple years before being reeled back in or jumping ship to private practice.
