These are the same folks who picket and disrupt military funerals for our fallen heros, who have paid the ultimate sacrifice supporting the Global War on Terror.

These folks actions, are the very reason 'why' the Patriot Guard Riders was formed. To date, the PGR has 154,014 active members across America.

ST. LOUIS — A federal appeals court says Missouri should be barred from enforcing a state law limiting protests near funerals until it can be determined whether the law is constitutional.

The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis reached the same decision last December. But the state of Missouri appealed.

Missouri legislators passed the law in 2006 in response to pickets of soldiers’ funerals by members of Westboro Baptist Church. The Topeka, Kan., church claims God allows soldiers to be killed as punishment on the nation for tolerating homosexuality.

The appeals court said church member Shirley Phelps-Roper was entitled to a preliminary injunction while the law’s constitutionality is considered.

It's groups like the ones from Westboro, that do such things, as belittling, marginizing, ridiculing, and even mocking the service of the soliders, that gets my blood boiling. How sick is it, that there are honestly people that believe that garbage they spout? That these men and women, are giving their lives, to protect this great country, and this is how their families, and others they leave behind get treated.

I this Missouri is on the right track with this law, and hopefully once they come to a decision, and hopefully do ban the protesting, that other states will quickly jump on board with it.

Many states have passed legislation, Texas included, however, this very legislation is coming under scrutiny of the Federal Appeals courts.

Bex; Imagine the feeling one gets, riding with the PGR, shielding the mourning families from these imbeciles ridiculing, at their sons or daughters KIA funeral! Yeah....talk about strict self discipline.

I disagree with the ruling and as a member of the PGR who has done two KIA missions, support our families who have lost loved ones.

As with most probelms in a democratic government, it becomes an issue of expressing those rights which are being defended at such a great cost. It comes down to our great legal system to decide who rights are being trampled on more.

Hold up a BIG American flag and sing a little louder!!!!

They tried to erect a monument on our Court House Lawn. Several Veterans wrote them letters saying if they showed up, they would be shot on sight and the local jury would not give a convection and if they wanted to try, just come on. Of course the Town Government sent them a letter saying a monument could not be erected.
