I was reading the post about dive motivators in another post here http://www.corpsman.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19353

I then read up a bit more at http://www.ptforlife.com/bootcamp.htm

Before reading the above post on these forums I was unaware of a program like this in RTC and A School. What I was wondering is if anyone knows how exactly this program works while in RTC. Do they pull you away from your division for the program, or do they send you to a separate division?

Also in A School, if I go in to be a corpsman, does it conflict with classes any? Also how does it work if I graduated schooling and decided I wanted to try for SWCC or the Diver program. I would assume that I would keep the HM rating and they would send me to the appropriate school to try to get a second rating of new job. But I am unsure of the actual process of this. Any information to enlighten me would be greatly appreciated :D

Sorry for bringing this up in a new thread. Just wasn't sure if the other thread would ever get read again, believe the last activity was in June.

As for as dive motivator in boot, make your request known to your recruiter and RDCS once at boot through a request chit. If I remember correctly, they might train at night so as not to interfere with classes at RTC. I don't know about separate divisions vecause you still have to learn the same info as any other recruit. You will still go through HM "A" school before going to another school as long as it is in your contract or orders. I think dive school is at Panama City Florida but not sure.

You're spot on dvldocjoe:

Technical Training Information: Enlistees are taught the fundamentals of diving through formal Navy schooling and on the job training. After "A" school candidates go on to Second Class Diver Training.
