Officer Opportunities

Hi Everyone,
I am 31, going into the Navy Reserve as a Corpsman/FMF leaving Feb 09. I do have a college degree. I was wondering the ways you can reach officer at my age. My recruiter stated the cut off is 32, by time I am done with A school, I will be 32. I am assuming he is telling me accurate information. With this being the case, how can someone my age reach officer? Is it simply merit and time of service or are there other approaches? Thanks.

Why didn't you look into OCS before enlisting in the reserves?

My goal was to become a Corpsman so I didn't bother to look into it. I would love to make officer but wether I do or do not, my goal was to become a Corpsman. At the time, I was still 31 and didn't really think about it...now, that I know that I am going to be receiving the job I wanted, I want to see how I can maximize my potential.
