Hello,

I just enlisted in the Navy. I have the NCS contract with HM 'A' School, and 'C' School for NEC 8404. I was hoping to get into the Fleet Marine Force, but anticipate some time at a hospital or something to gain experience in the medical field. I was wondering if I am in the right place to go FMF, or if I need to try to do something, any pointers would be helpful.

Thanks,

S.Brown

Brown,

Once you have completed Boot, "A" and "C" School, let them know you want to go to the Fleet Marine Force when you have a chance to ask for you follow-on orders. Just because you are a Hosptial Corpsman, it doesn't mean you have to go to a Hospital first. You'dget better training on being a Corpsman serving with the Marine Corps.

"ALL" NCS contracts are going to the FMF. You will not be going to a hospital.

Hope this helps..
