Hello everbody. I'm curious to know if it is only Independent Duty Corpsmen who get stationed on the Subs. That is what my recruiter told me and I couldn't find anything on Google when I last searched.
Yes, a SUB IDC is the only medical provider on a sub.
What would happen then, should the IDC become incapacitated or otherwise could not perform his duties?
The rest of the crew needs be able to cope with minor problems until the IDC is well or replaced.Everyone should be aware of the uses of duct tape and super glue for emergency purposes.
... and super glue for emergency purposes.
Before someone laughs at this statement, know that a facsimile of this product is what is used to close the chest cavity after open heart surgery! No staples! ;)
TRAINING TIP: for our HMDA's, don't forget there are other uses too ...
