Hey guys, I haven't been on here in a couple weeks, but right now I am ECSTATIC!

My friend got back from MEPs today and the classifier 'pulled some strings' (funny how I hear that term every time someone talks about MEPs) and he got my friend the same ship out date and a Corpsman contract!

So I have some questions. Obviously we will be on the same plane, arrive at RTC at the same time and go through the same P-days, but is there any way to guarantee that we will be in the same ship or company (or however you are divided at RTC)?

Then after that, at Corps school do you have ANY say in who you get to room with? Obviously I would prefer to room with him.

No matter what though, Chicago on Liberty will be a lot more fun with a buddy!

According to what I could find in the Enlisted CRUITMAN, the buddy program provides for groups of four or less of the same gender to remain together through Recruit Training only. Thus I would imagine that means you would be assigned to the same division. However, it does not apply to follow on training, as the group can consist of any mixture of ratings and programs. Since your buddy has an HM contract, then it is likely you will both end up at A school together, barring any unforseen snafu's.

I don't recall what the rooming policy was, perhaps someone else can chime in on that? Either way, like you said, it's always enjoyable to share the experience with someone you know.

Pretty much the first day you muster at Corp School to complete all the paperwork and room assignments, they will pass out a bunch of peices of paper with your roomkey and lockerkey to pass down the line of new students. So usually if you sit next to your friend while this takes place, you should be in the same room or very close. I'm rooming with the guy I sat next to...

However the room you were assigned to may only have room for 1 student...

Make sense?

132 (Hilton) rocks...!

No clue on how they determine which division you will be in at RTC unfortantly.

>At Corps school are you allowed to 'hang out' in other students' rooms? I assume you can, but how late?

You have to be signed back into your barracks by 2145 on training days and 2345 on non training days.
If your in the same barracks as your buddy, your suppose to be back in your room my taps, but its not really enforced..
Hang out all you want, but note that sleep is important.

All things in moderation, don't forget to study! :D
