i am scheduled to ship out to RTC on april 1 and have already signed on for 5 yrs active duty in july,but due to the info i recieved from this site since then i was wondering if it was at all possible, at final MEPS would i be able to change my contract to 6yrs and have FMTB included in it

Devil Doc,

The initial contract for HM is 60 months for Active Duty, under which you cannot get FMTB or FMF guarenteed in your contract. However, I couldn't find anywhere that limits you from signing on for more than the minimum obligation - I suggest that you talk with your recruiter to confirm.

The only way to get FMTB guaranteed on your enlistment contract, is if you have it changed to Navy Reserve. Active Duty enlistment contracts do NOT have any guarantees for FMTB!

Not sure if its 0 (zero) or XI (11) but there's a new James T Kirk (actually two new Kirks but that's in the weeds) and much of the classic crew...
