A-School

So me and a buddy are leaving a week apart for boot camp. Im going as a HM and he is a GSM(i think). Will we be able to hang out/see each other while we are at A-School? Or will we pretty much just be staying with ppl of the same job??

The base is quite large and houses a lot of 'A' schools with tons of students. I would assume, in your 'off' time you could see each other. There is no reason why you would not be able to see each other.

Basic Engineering Common Core (school for GS) is located over by the main galley on board Naval Training Center Great Lakes if I recall. Depending on your liberty schedules, you should both have time available to hang out...just don't forget that you are there for school first, and hanging out second...

Also you may be on different liberty 'phases', make sure you don't get each other in trouble by violating curfews etc.

Thanks so much! It good to hear I'll getta see my friends some too. I know it'd be bad to miss curfew. I have one now and have not missed it yet.

There are several:
Lackland AFB, San Antonio TX
Hampton Rds, VA
Kings Bay, GA

Used to only be one, but the Navy drastically expanded after 9/11 as you can imagine.

By all means, have a great time! Just keep an eye on the destination.
