The boy left last week to the sandbox. When I talked to him on the phone at the east coast airport he was happy to finally get to do his job as opposed to training. He was also happy they gave him a M4 as opposed to the M16 he carted around at the stumps. Didn't get the grenade launcher attachment he wanted though. Haven't talked to him since but got a quick message in the area of final destination.
