Hello Latin Doc,

I can tell you what I know of it, I was the senior instructor there from 99 to 02, I implemented the new trauma courses that are part of the course now, we did this because the rationale was, if for some reason you don't make it all they way through IDC school, you would be sent back to the fleet as a advanced trauma corpsman, and with the world the way it is today that is a good thing.

Looks like you are in San Diego, have you been over to the school house to talk to any of the staff or students? I am not going to lie to you the course is front loaded, we do that on purpose to weed out the weak ones. So when you start school you head will be spinning a bit for the first 4 months or so, then you kind of settle into a routine of chaos.

The NSHS San Diego website also offers some good information.

You can stop by the school house and asked to speak to your class advisor, that person will have been identified all ready, and they can help you review what you have done thus far and anything you can do to prepare. Really the only thing you can do is be prepared to be a student, any life situations will make going to school difficult for you. If you have any other questions please fell free to ask me. Stop by and talk to one of the upper classman, they won't bull shit you and will give you a realistic answer as have I.

Senior Out!
