Like everything on the net. Take from it what you paid for it, but it seems accurate.

It could be one thing that would affect you going in the Military. They may allow you to do a waiver, but you should wait to hear from a higher up about it.

Make sure that your recruiter is aware of a potential medical condition as well - if you've already done a physical at MEPS, it may need to be amended.

I myself saw my physician and consulted on my own problems with heart palpitations. Heart palpitations can be caused by periods of extreme stress (I had them the most on the ship), lack of sleep and excessive stimulant use, tied to dehydration, or a combination of all the above. It can also be genetic, If it is something that happens on a consistant basis that may be the case, but all in all, heart palpitations are not all together an uncommon occurance. Hopefully, it will turn out for you. Good luck with your results!

Trista: You should listen to the members and go to a M.D. but you will prolly get a halter moniter for a week. It is connected with leads to your chesT and measures all rythmns that occur including S.V.T.'s and V-Tach 2 reasons palpitations occur along with 20 other possibilites. Good luck.

My money is PVBs (Premature Ventricular Beats). Everyone has them, and they are really cool on an EKG. In my experience (which is vast...yea right), those that do feel "skipped beats" or palpatations more often has these.

Just a guess though, see a doctor.

I felt my first 'skipped beat' on Saturday at approximately 1633. before then it was just mild tachycardia....my regular BPM is 70-76. Lately it's been going upwards of 100-105. 107 is the record so far on Saturday night. heh...but like I said I have a cardiologist appointment at 1600 today so I will attempt to get on and tell you the results....Thank you for your input...

okay. the verdict....i went in and did a pre-liminary exam. real simple. My doc said she'd send a request for me to get in an appt. with a cardiologist in the next couple of weeks and sent me to do an EKG. It was a 10 lead EKG. results from that should come up in the next couple of days....
