I have a family member who is an Army Reservist (who disgustingly has more time on the water than I got from being Navy...)
While he was at AIT, he had an ankle injury, which has now developed into plantar fasciitis. The treatment at AIT didn't get into his medical record, but he does have copies of the treatment documentation on the official army forms, signed by the army physician, x-rays, etc. His medical department is telling him that he has to be on active duty orders to get seen for it, but won't tell him who / what he has to see / do to get that done. Is there someone he can call to get this fast-tracked and get something done?

He needs to contact his "SNCO" in charge of him or his COC.

It is imperative he gets this done now. Sometimes it takes Non-Med folks to light a fire under Med folks..

;-)

Good Luck!

The program for dealing with injuries/illnesses sustained by reservists while on drill time or orders is known as the Line Of Duty program. Details for the Army specifically can be found here: https://www.hrc.army.mil/site/reserve/Soldierservices/medical/lodinvestigations.htm.

His medical department should be very familiar with the program, and if they aren't, he needs to get his chain of command involved. Even if treatment is no longer needed, he still needs to go through the process in case of re-injury later on down the road, and the possibility of disability comes into play.

Thanks all for the info. I've passed it on, and I'm going to make sure he gets it done.
