Went to a premier screening of Star Trek today. Good flick! I liked it.

This is a prequel but they came up with a nice solution that totally rewrites nearly the entire Star Trek story as we know it and can allow them to follow a completely different path with different character development as new sequels are released. However lots of homage is paid to the original Star Trek.

Classic quotes (ie. "Damn it Spock! I'm a doctor not a physicist!", "I'm given 'er all she's got Captain" for starters)
Moments of Captain Kirk over-acting ala William Shatner
Token crew member in the red uniform that dies...

This movie rocked!! The new story line was good and they definitely did a great job of explaining it. THis aint your dad's Star Trek......

Took the wife to see this on Thursday night. TOTALLY ROCKS!!!

I enjoyed the story, working in the characters. Loved it.....and, it appears they can work in a couple of other story lines with the new characters.

My son took me to see it on Mother's Day...It was sooo good! I will go watch it again just to make sure I didn't miss anything.

I thought it was awesome.

One thing that is interesting. In most Science Fiction stories with space ships. They seem to adopt Navy terminology.

I feel more good when I hear Navy references.

I thought that it was a very good movie. Not as good as Wrath of Khan, but still alot better than the most two recent Trek films.

Imma Trekkie, I LOVE IT.

My wife is definatly NOT a Trekkie, SHE loved it.

All around great movie, great ride, and its throughback references were outstanding.

Ok saw it last night. Only complaint I had was the sound system in the theater I was at was sorely lacking.. Really Really Bad.. Sucked.

We will be discussing this and all summer movies on this weeks "Attack of Da-Chief" on Thursday Night.. 2115 E.S.T.
