I am currently in the DEP program, and I really want to be stationed at a hospital. Hospital work is what I love to do its my calling. Do any of you know what bases would need a HM the most for a hospital? And what are the chance I am going to have to do FMF?

The needs of the Navy my friend, the needs of the Navy. You will hear that a lot. If hospital work is your calling, and you do get a hospital billet, don't be surprised after 3-6 months, you get called into your supervisors office, and them explaining you have been selected for an IA assignment. I myself never "asked" for FMSS (FMTB) orders, but opened my orders one day and WA LA, whata ya know. You didn't specify if you are male or female either. There are lot more slots for males at FMTB than females. So in the end, is there a chance you will have to go through FMTB after A school, hell yes there is. Don't judge a book by its cover though, you may end up loving it like me.

True that Docfish;

...what are the chance I am going to have to do FMF?

Were at war, so I suspect the chances are pretty good you will, at some time in your naval career/enlistment, attend FMTB.

All bases that have a clinic or a hospital *always* need new people. I've posted a link to all the Navy facilities in the forums before if you are interested to see where they all are. Currently it seems that all folks are headed to FMTB before going to hospital or clinic billets anyway (keep in mind this is always subject to change) as they pull from the shore billets to help support IAs as mentioned above. Thus while you may get to pick a shore billet during your time at A school, its highly likely you'll go to FMTB sooner rather than later.
