For all the Aircrew guys out there,

Is 8406 still a requirement for SAR Med Tech? And where can I find all the complete requirements for SAR Med Tech?

I have pulled the CANTRAC's for SAR Med Tech Phase 1 it says nothing about 8406? I wanted to see if anyone knows before I have to call. I looked on the other post, but wanted to see if that is the most recent up to date info.

And... is there another website that is like to old SARCorpsman.com, that post all the pre-req's and other stuff? Any help greatly appreciated.

Yes, 8406 will always be a requirement and the primary NEC of both a SAR and Phys tech (8401 and 8409).

Requirements are to pass a long form flight physical, be a 2nd class swimmer and preferably have a recommendation from a current SAR HM.

AVT school to NACCS to Army Flight Medic to SERE to FRAC to either shore or sea duty.

Facebook has a SAR HM page at

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=54250245204

Keep asking questions if you have them.

Thanks

one more question... Does submitting a pkg for SMT Phase 1 automatically get you submitted for AVT? Or is that another totally seprate Pkg? Like I said the CANTRAC said nothing about AVT? I have a Pkg. ready to go, I just figured i'd ask first.

Yes, putting your 8401 package will include AVT school and the 8406 NEC.
