After lurking for a while, figured it was time to come out of the shadows and briefly introduce myself. Just a dad - my son is in about halfway through his A school at Great Lakes, so I've been trying to learn what I can about his chosen path as a corpsman. Very glad to have found this site - thanks to Da Chief and all for your efforts, and of course for your service to our country. I salute you all.
Welcome aboard Auld Fella;
I too am a father of an 8404 Corpsman. Read everything here on this site and you will learn a lot of what your son is doing or going to do. If you have questions, please post them. This site has a lot of experienced naval personnel who are also Corpsman and can best answer your questions.
USAF veteran here - also Mom of a Corpsman - found this group when I was frantically searching for a cadeusus to put on a cake for my sons going away party and stuck around - REALLY glad I did too. Have made some great friends, learned LOTS about corpsman and enlarged my family exponentially :D
Now I am editing Scuttlebutt the newsletter for this wonderful place and getting to know even more than I thought was possible.
As parents we need to be able to lean on each other for support and comfort while our children are off on deployment. Honestly the hardest thing I have to deal with is knowing that I can't be the one to make it all better anymore. If you ever need/want to talk hit me up. I am here for anyone who needs me.

Auld Fella,
Permission Granted and Welcome Aboard.
It's great to have parents who support their Sailor's Endeavors.
