It does not follow the old TV series story line and it can be real cheesy at times (like most Will Ferrell movies) but the one-liners and immature humor can be rather funny and kept the audience laughing pretty good for much of the movie. In my opinion the movie was better/funnier than the commercials and trailers would lead you to believe. (The trailers weren't highlight reels like for some movies)

The story might be based off a G-rated TV show for kid's but this is *not* a kids' movie. High school kids, sure, but it's not appropriate for the young one's in my book. Childish adults are the target audience; not little kids. There is enough profanity, sexual innuendos, and adult humor that the PG-13 rating should be followed for most families.

I'd definitely recommend it for the rental list when you're in the mood for some goofy humor. This is probably one of Will Ferrell's better adult comedy movies, but it is still a Will Ferrell movie so if you don't like his style of humor then you probably won't like it. I'm not a big Will Ferrell fan but this movie had me laughing.

Other than the Matt Lower moments, this movie was a waste of money. It started funny but after about 15 minutes, it was worse than an early adam sandler movie..maybe Im just getting to old for these films now. It should have had the 2 kids from the tv show in there and a better female lead.

rating: blah!
