Hi everyone, I know its been a long time since I've posted anything on here.
My husband just left for IA deployment today and I don't know what to expect. I know that my husbands chief will contact me regularly and I will have the support of the command. But since we are stationed on a Marine Corps base there isn't much support for me here. The closest support I have is in Norfolk ( 3 hours away), I have an IDSS person. This is also my first deployment ever and I'm not sure what to expect. Everyone here on base seems to think that I should get a FRO or something like that.
I am sorry if this is a rambling mess. Thank you in advance!!
Carrie

Is he truly on an IA or just out with the green side? I ask because you said you are stationed on a Marine Corps base. If he deployed with the Marines you should get in touch with their command FRO, someone in the rearD should be able to help you out.
Is he truly on an IA.
Yes he is. With one of those Fleet Surgical Team's (FST)
oh so he's with the Army? I don't have any other advice that what has already been offered. My DH went with the Army on his second turn in Iraq and I had no contact with anyone from the unit he deployed with and this was right when IA's were just starting so there was no process set up yet for the families. Hope you are able to get in touch with someone!

IDCWife,
I guess he's with the Army now or soon to be with the Army. He is going to be with the Fleet Hospital 5. Thanks everyone for all the advice. It is helping alot. Any more advice keep it coming.. lol
hmm, weird..I thought Fleet Hospitals were Navy things? DH was with FH3 his first time over and then did an IA with the Army training the Iraqi police/military. Hope you get hooked up with someone!

There is no "SET" answer as to who is assigned to what now.. Army serves with Navy, Navy Serves with AF etc.. We are all one big happy family!
