So i didn't know where else to post something like this cause there's no general discussion topic.

I just got done reading the bible a little while ago and i was wondering if anyone else has read it all the way through (old and new testaments).

I'm asking because after reading it i've become quite firmly atheist. (is that wierd?) leaning a bit towards atheist agnostic but mostly atheist.

I'm wondering if there are any other like minded sailors out there like me cause so far all i can find are catholics and christians.

While I don't normally get into discussions of this nature, I recognize there are some who may wish to engage you in a healthy discussion on the topic. Best regards to you in your quest ...

I just got done reading the bible a little while ago.

We hope you purchased it, from the corpsman.com ships store (http://astore.amazon.com/corpsmancom-20/search/188-1334838-8794001?node=3&keywords=bible&x=0&y=0&preview=), powered by Amazon.com. Each purchase from the ships store helps support this website.

Probably over a few million! :D

(is that wierd?).

Not at all, the world is filled with 'all' types!

...leaning a bit towards atheist agnostic.

That is the beauty of the United States, which is comprised of all faiths ... or not! It's your choice, 'how' you wish to lean!

... so far all i can find are catholics and christians.

The world, is comprised of many faiths, non-faiths, cultures, lifestyles, races etc... they are all around you.

Consider the words in the following ... ;)

I grew up catholic, went to catholic school, read the bible and remember most of it backwards and forward, went to college...learned critical thinking....researched the history of the biblical story in comparison of other religions and past religions....and became athiest.

Not sure how far we are to go with this discussion, as I know questioning the faith of the faithful usually ends up with them getting all agitated and combative (BELIEVE me), but if you wanna discuss it and the higher-ups are cool with it, let it begin :)

Sidenote: I define athiest as "the rejection of theism," which is "a particular doctrine concerning the nature of God and his relationship with the universe."

Doesnt mean that I think we all evolved from a pool of lightening-struck "goo," just that we humans have an innane flaw that drives us to always find answers to EVERYTHING, no matter how silly they are. Just because you cant answer "why do we exist" doesnt mean that some glowy, floating man said, "because I said so."

But dont get me started, lol.

I believe most adults should posses the ability to discuss and exchange ideas, without becoming agitated or combative. A healthy exchange of ideas and knowledge is always a good thing.
Stay on topic, respectful of everyone and their beliefs and all should be fine.
