Are you sure RT is what you want? The Corpsman has a lot of options today and a new one without any experience doesn't really know what he wants. You could get the NEC you "want" and be miserable for a few years until you manage to get a new one.

Mind you, I'm not the kind of guy who'd turn down a school if offered it but, you should really do some research before you get stuck on one idea unless you know for sure that is what you want. For instance, skimming through this section of the forum I saw a post by Aitris, a high school senior, who had done his research and wants to follow his childhood dreams and become an FMF Corpsman (though if he can't get it guaranteed, I've seen a few Marines convert to Navy just to get the school afterwards).

There are a lot of great resources on the internet and testimonies from all sorts of people...and if you're feeling cheeky you could see your career counselor and discuss your future more in-depth.
