I'm new to this site but is has been really cool so far. But my question is correct me if I'm wrong but I heard that NHCS indoc takes two weeks. Why does it take so long and what things do they do in.

Can't tell you exactly what you will be doing - but my son did a lot of watches during his 2 weeks - when you get time workout and do PT on your own so you are ready when the time comes.
Learn all you can while you are in class - don't rush through the material - it may seem trivial while you are there but you need the knowledge. If you have ANY questions about anything while you are there talk to your instructors, that is why they are there.
Good Luck and if you have any other questions always feel free to post 'em here - you would be surprised at the amount of knowledge that is available to you from the members of this community. You never know you may actually meet some of them one day. :D

I'm not sure but indoc to me seems that you wait for others to arrive in order to form a 'full' class.

While there you do jobs such as watch, work details etc...

While I was in indoc, known as SDCA, we didn't stand watch at all. That was only for people that were in the school house. You take briefs all day. Pretty boring stuff really. My best advice would be to study so much that you can take the first 2 to 3 tests without a break. Sleep a lot, get all your gear in order, pretty much it. There's not a lot to do in SDCA really. The briefs you take are boring as all get out. They are not medical related, but the instructors are pretty cool. Things change all the time but when I was in SDCA (DEC of 06) we didn't stand watch like I said. It lasts about 2-3 weeks.

A lot of basics will be covered when you go through Indoc. Personal Financial Management, Standards of Cunduct, Liberty Policies, Safety, Military Customs and Courtesies, Religious Programs, Security and Facilities Management, ETC. will more than likely all be covered. A lot of it will seem lame and redundant, but if it's being covered, it's because something of that nature has happened at NHCS. Pay attention and you'll be squared away.
