View Full Version : just enlisted
Enlisted last month seeking answers. I got classified as Hm 8404 FMF in the reserves, this will be a whole new experience for me and would like to be prepared both physically and mentally. I am 37 years old I frequent the gym 3-4 days a week I do weight training and running for about 25 to 30 minutes. I am proud of the fact that I will be representing the world's finest Navy and to have the honor of caring for our Marines as a Corpsman, so if anyone can let me know what to expect please let me know, Any and all answers will be appreciated.
There is a lot of information posted in various threads located at:
http://www.corpsman.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=83
Plus you can read 'all' about FMTB at:
FMTB East (http://www.lejeune.usmc.mil/fmtb/index.shtml) - Camp Lejeune, North Carolina
FMTB West (http://www.cpp.usmc.mil/schools/fmtb/index.asp) - Camp Pendleton, California
However, you probably should be focusing more on learning everything within the DEP-PQS booklet (http://www.corpsman.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/depsuccessaccelerator.pdf), as it will be required knowledge at Recruit Training Command (RTC) (http://www1.netc.navy.mil/nstc/rtcgl/index.asp).
Your physical fitness regimen sounds great and it's also discussed within the DEP-PQS booklet.
Thanks, I downloaded the materials and found out that worthwhile things are not easy. I look forward to the challenges that the Navy Will set before me.
