Just found this sight - looks good so far :-)

Been around the Navy since 1968. Started out in Boot Camp at Great Lakes. From there to the USS Shangri-La (CV-38) 1968-1969. Back to the Lakes for Corps School 1969-1970. Then NNMC Bethesda MD 1970-72.

Inactive reserves till 1975 when I went back on active duty for two years on the USS Franklin Roosevelt (CV-42). Active Reserves Environmental Preventive Medicine Unit, Forest Park IL till about 1979 or so??? (I'm getting old so my "short-term" memory may be going. I'll look it all up some day. :-)

Doc Dillon;

Can you narrate a bit on the duties of an underway Corpsman, perhaps what an average day would entail? What it was like reporting on board etc..

Please feel free to answer any questions posed within the forums and join us on our weekly broadcasts and chat sessions.
