I'll be there september 10th(leave sunny Oregon on the 9th) and was wondering what the weather was like during that time of the year?
Heard about "Snow Patrol" in winter and flag days(too hot to PT outside if I recall correctly) in summer but September is kind of middle ground.

I went out to great lakes back in late september of 2004 and the weather wasn't to bad. I do think that it wasn't hott in anyway and I'm pretty sure that in October it got cold and was cold from then on out. It never snowed until 4 days after i graduated and was across the street from RTC Great lakes at corps school. While i was in school there, from november to april, there was snow on the ground the whole time and it was really cold. But you are probably used to the cold considering you're from oregon and I'm from florida. But all and all the weather isn't to bad. you will be alright!

The cold and wind and snow in GLakes will leave a mark on you. I will never go there again in the winter .My son was up there last year for RTC and HCS and he agrees now.

September is the PERFECT time to go to Great Lakes. It's not muggy hot from summer, but it hasn't dipped into freezing temperatures yet either. It'll be warm and then gradually get chilly, but not on the extremes it can get.
I rolled through wonderous Great Lakes for bootcamp from Sept. to Nov. 2005. The day after I graduated and headed to Pensacola for Airman Apprenticeship Training, it snowed a foot and a half! Haha.

Well If all goes well I'll be in Great Lakes in September for a minimum of 24 weeks ( 9 for boot, 14 for A school).
Oh, I've never seen snow either, coldest weather I've been in was 35 and raining.
I'm looking forward to seeing snow for my first time.

I'll be there in April 2010, what's spring like in Glakes?
Glakes probably won't have spring in 2010,you will like the cold weather.
