Hey all need a little help from the Army side of house.
I have a friend of the family that a couple of weeks ago went out drinking. He at the time was 19. He fell and hit his head sustaining a pretty good lac to his for head. 7 staples and misc sutures. He doesn't remember this at all. He was told the next morining he had a seizure and was being medically separated for that. He has no seizure hx ever.
Here is the kicker.

If he does get separated it will only be for 6 months. Then they will let him back. (Even got it in writing) Does this sound legit? It sounds like a recruiter move to me. IF it is true, then what does he have to do to come back? Is the burden of proof that he doesn't have chronic seizures on him? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will follow up with more as time goes.

What is his current duty status? How long has he been in the Army and when did he complete initial training? Has he already been discharged? What is the discharge reason and re-enlistment code provided on his DD214?

Right now he is active duty, he has 2 1/2 years under his belt. He is an Specialist (E-4). He has not been discharged. I am trying to separate fact from fiction when it comes to being discharged. Its not unheard of to get screwed over, when the military says one thing and does another.
