Hi all,
Just wanted to vent a little bit... I have been on a ship now for 3 years and have felt as if my job as a corpsman comes second to this blasted program (3M) I realize that in the Blue side of the Navy you are supposed to be a "Sailor first" and your rating second... but there have been time primarily in the past year and a half that I have felt more like a DC2 or "3M2" than an HM2. Granted, I have a 3rd helping me out with the Medical Maintenance side of the house... but I often get hosed with the Damage Control Maintenance since I am the senior person in the work center. It ALMOST makes me long for the days when I was a lowly shore-duty HN since I seemed to get more patient care and Corpsman-type work then than I do nowadays... that's all. Just wanted to say my piece. If you are going to a small ship, stand by for the joys of 3M.
