So this year my dad finally made Master Chief. I was babysitting my little 4 year old brother when I heard the news, and passed it on to him. He was so excited he ran around the house screaming "DAD GOT MASTER CHIEF!!" over and over.
When my dad finally got home that day, my brother was really mad. Dad did not bring home an X Box, much less the game HALO.
He was upset for weeks, and even at the pinning ceremony, he was still asking for his X Box. We were finally able to convince him that Dad is the same "rank" as Master Chief from HALO, and that people in the military often call each other by rank instead of by name. Of course, at the ceremony everyone was calling dad Master Chief, which we thought reinforced the idea.
So now he goes to school and tells all the kids, "My dad is better than your dad, my dad IS IN HALO."
