I was disappointed with this movie....
I have heard some critics rave, but I wasn't impressed. It may have been that my expectations and hopes were too high but the rest of my group wasn't very happy with it either.
I know its an adaptation and the original book was basically full of pictures with very few words so some changes to the book's story was to be expected. But I didn't like the changes that were made. I felt the movie was very slow at times and some of the audience even left the movie. I also thought Max's character was a bit too old (12 vice 6 or 8 in the book) and not very likeable. The level of maturity required to comprehend the movie's moral of the story is likely well above the intended target audience. And you certainly don't want the little one's imitating the antics like the dirt clod fight or "Feed me woman!" temper tantrum.
Eehh,..... I had higher hopes for the movie so I'm disappointed. I think Max's wolf costum may be popular for Halloween though...
