Need some help on some info..

Greetings all, hope you have had a nice weekend. Our familie has been busy as Karen has been working all weekend, and I have Mr. Mom duties..;-)

Anyways.. I have a request that was emailed me today and am hoping you all can help me out so I can help him out. Here is the email:



My grandfather was a corpsman during WWII, with the 5th Naval Beach Battalion. He served in the Pacific. There's hardly anything available on the 5th Naval Beach Battalion, and my grandfather won't be alive too much longer. Do you have anything about the 5th, or can you point me to some information? Thank you.

If any of you can send me any info on this so I can forward it back to Brian please do so. I have searched etc. and cannot find anything. Any and all help is appreciated. I will try to find out info from my BUMED source tomorrow.

5th NAVAL BEACH BATTALION. Formed August 1943. Trained in England and employed at Normandy

They may be able to assist. Though They have links to a few of the Beach Battalions though not the 5th. They still may be able to assist the young man.
