Soon to be Shipmate,

Certifications for outside.. NADA sorry, no EMT etc..

But most hospitals will let you work as a PCT (Patient Care Tech) or CNA (Certified Nurses Assistant). My wife did this when she got out to help while going through Nursing school.

On that note, in the Reserves there is a program that just started called the HM to BSN program. I would advise looking into it if you are interested in becoming a RN.

Hope this helps..

Thanks for thehelp Chief,

I was mainly interested in what kind of part time job prospects I would have when i returned home for college. Ifigured a small job in the field could be beneficial and profitable.

I'm really not interested in being an RN, I would rathergo for the MD Officer. My chief recruiter mentioned a "little known" officer program specifically for corpsman, but he didnt say doctor or nurse. Is that the HM to BSN you are talking about?

Thanks Again
