Ok for all of you who don't know. My Mother is Hispanic.. (She's my step mother but has raised me since I was a "Nino"..
My Mom was a Migrant worker when she was younger.. Mind you she was "legal" etc.. (Puerto Rican as well, but in CA so everyone is mixed! )
I was raised in a Hispanic Family setting. I think something has to be done with the border, but damn if we aren't shooting ourselves in our foot with this crap!! WTF?? You can't blame the fricken Immigrants..
What do you think?
Chief:
I retired from a very large telecommunications company in 2003. I saw this company layoff most if not all of their computer programmers and build a large building in Chennai, India. Most of their IT work is now outsourced overseas. Large companies are doing this to escape paying US wages and are paying extremely low wages for overseas workers.
Prior to sending this work overseas, this same company hired overseas workers under the H1B visa worker program and assisted and payed for their immigration to the US to work for this company.
Most of your help desk, call centers, customer service, billing operations etc...are being outsourced overseas.
I wrote my state US senator and she stated she was FOR outsourcing jobs overseas to help companies with their bottom line, even at the expense of Americans losing their jobs. I won't mention her name, but I am from Texas.
I believe all green cards should be done away with and any immigrant who comes here should be applying for US citizenship. Take away the 'carrot' of coming to America illegally, working and not paying taxes, by fining all companies one million dollars for each occurrence of hiring illegals. All medical should be withheld if immigrants cannot show proof of their US citizenship or something showing they are in process of getting it. Parkland hospital in Dallas, Texas was shown that 70 percent of all woman who gave birth in the first three months of 2006 were illegal immigrants.
Yes, I was raised by my stepfather an Aztec Mexican Indian. My wife is Hispanic and my kids are half Mexican. My in laws are from Mexico, now legal immigrants and I still feel this way. I understand the plight of Mexicans who want to better their manner of living but do it the right way and not jump fences.
The US economy is going to suffer greatly if it continues to outsource all of it's work overseas. Congress and the Senate and the President are backing large companies to outsource work. They also back large companies in discontinuing pensions, retiree medical benefits and calculating current pensions on a different algorithm resulting in much smaller lump sum payouts.
When was the last time anyone saw something that was 'made in America'?

I agree, there is a great need for workers in our country but for American lawyers to conspire to find a "legal" way to disclude qualified American applicants and focus on hiring the illegal workers is inexcuseable! We were promised "secure borders" the last time amnisty was offered in the 80's and even with 9-11 we still have access for anyone who wishes to walk on over from the south or the north. Even though the American people want it I don't belive we will see them secure in the near future. Lawers and Politics, it makes me ill.
I can't even begin to put into words how p***ed off this video makes me - not that I am even a little surprised that it is happening this way but it sure scorches my cookies
Well my little Rant is over - pardon the interuption you may now go back to your lives :)
