One of the greatest Corpsman I ever knew was actually a full bird Captain and former Corpsman. He crossed over to Nurse Corps (I didnt hold it against him..LOL) and made it to Captain and skipper of our school. I kicked his butt in a Euchre tournament. He and the Command Master Chiefagainst me and a HMC Pruitt (female). We were tied 3 games a piece and down 9-0 in the 7th game and came back to beat them 10-9. I still have the plaque with a picture of him giving me and HMC Pruitt the plaque. I know it killed him!!!!! I learned more about life and being a corpman more from him than anyone else (no offence) and he was probably in his 60's when he retired and that was 1992ish.

His name was William "Wild Bill" Cote' Captain United States Navy...know him? Let me know..Im sure if you do...you have a great story to tell me. He was awesome!

I was an instructor there at the same time.

My Capt Cote story was when he caught us headed out the back door of the school house, headed toa Cubs game. He was angry because we didn't invite him to go with us.

He is retired and living in the Newport RI area
