Picture this..
4 walls a door and a roof over your head..
Sometimes the heat works, sometimes not..
If your in 129, 128.. You have "0" A/C
If your in 131 You have A/C
If your a female you have A/C
Hot water in 129 is a ongoing thing, sometimes you got it sometimes you don't..
They call 129 "ANIMAL HOUSE" (Mainly because the residents are Knuckleheads!) 131 is the newest with 132.. 128 used to be the female barracks years ago.. It is usually quiet but basically like 129 built the same etc..
No Cable/ No Phones / No Internet Service bring your own..
Reveille goes down at 0500 Taps 2200... Except on weekends.
You have 5 section duty unless your color guard.. IF color guard your always ready to rock and roll..
Do not " I REPEAT" DO NOT" bring a lot of crap.. If you can put it in storage or someplace with your parents or whatever do it..
You do "NOT" GET BAS while there.. You do "NOT" get BAH while there unless married. You Get Separation Pay after 30 days aways from your family.
Hope that fits everything you need if not ask more specific questions!

While I was a student there in the 70's (my room number was 257), 129-H was in good shape. As an instructor starting in 1984 it was in about the same condition. While I was assigned to BUMED, I visited Corps School on an NEC recruiting trip in January of 2000. Students had moved into the new barracks and the staff were excited about escorting me through there and showing it off. After the tour I said, "What about 129, can I walk through there?" After some himmin and hawwen, they took me in. What a disaster. Not only exposed light bulbs but broken bulbs in the socket, water leaks, and signs of pest infestation. When my tour guide noticed that I noticed the conditions (I was an old IDC and inspecting heads and beds was one of my areas of expertise), he quickly told me that 129 was being used for males that couldn't pass room inspection and other assorted dirt bags. I chuckled and high fived him. After his sigh of relief, we departed the building and walked back to the school house.

I was in BEQ 129, less than 2 weeks ago. You get one room, with 2 bunk beds, 2 desks, and 4 closets. Its the oldest barracks and they were moving people out of there to the main side of the base, they said they were trying to clear it out, but new people were still going in there. You learn to love it just because when you have to do sweepers its very easy to clean just because its so old, that you can't really make it look that good. Also you stand room inspections every monday morning and it is very easy to keep those rooms clean because they are so small. There are 4 heads on every floor, that you share with a lot of people.
The other barracks are 128, which is the same thing, except smaller and they have internet access. 131, which is almost like a hotel, your own bathrooms, kitchens, and more privacy period. It has A/C and is very modern. 132 is the same thing but for females only.
The barracks on mainside are some 800 number. They are brand new and very nice, probably the nicest on the whole base, but you have to go by there liberty policies which are different than corps side and are a lot worse. And you stand their duties. I think your housed with OS's.
Hope this is enough
