Auction Announcement

The money raised is to keep this website, that we all love so much, from going under.
Please, please everyone gather up what items you can. Gather up your ashtray change for that matter.
If we all work together we can be something big, right?

The site currently has 794 Active Users and 2,408 total members. 794 people who have registered, visited the forums and actively benefited.

The site has remained free since inception and relies on donations, either by clicking the ad sponsors or via the donate icon. Unfortunately, both of these have consistently failed over the years. This has necessitated Da-Chief to utilize his own money, out of his family budget, to subsidize the costs associated to running this site.

Many do not know, but these costs are not just associated to the sites server, storage or leasing costs, rather they are also for computer hardware, software, communication, video broadcasting equipment and any necessary upgrades. Couple all of these together and it's easy to see these costs can take a huge (unexpected) bite out of a persons family budget. Especially a family with dependent children.

Since inception, the consistent contributors of this website can be counted on one hand! Imagine, if those same 792 Active Members stood up and committed to $1.00 per payday, we would not be here today, even with a down economy. That is roughly $26.00 per year. Others can do more!

Some users may say, "I am unemployed" or "I'm not rich", well neither am I! Then go and recycle cans or bottles. Hold a car wash in your local neighborhoods. Hold a bake sale. Mow a lawn one day a month. There are many methods of raising funds. The key word is consistent support from everyone and not just once in awhile!

In a few short years this website has benefited many and still is, with some of our members who are deployed as we speak. What an embarrassment, to have to shut this down, on them and others who find solace and support here.

The staff of this website does not get paid and are strictly volunteers. This is not the first time we have been here. The site has pulled through in times past, but not without a great sacrifice to ones own personal family budget. It's time to cease with the sacrifices of a few. It's time to stand up, as a collective community and consistently support this site with both monetary donations and clicking the ad sponsors located at the top of every page of this site.

15 November will be interesting to see if this community will actually allow this site to be turned off. Time will tell ...

Thank you Da-Chief and Doc Konkle for providing a valuable resource! I have certainly appreciated this site and your friendship.

piping the side ...

I know that I gladly donate my time and energy to his site almost daily to help those who can learn from the experiences and will hate to see it go. I agree with 8404 that it is time for all of us to do our part to benefit others.

Thank you to the "senior" members of the Team who put their time and effort into helping others.
