A lot of info has been posted on the base and surrounding area through different threads. it would help if you could tell us where you were assigned so we can get specifics.

When you get your orders, there will be a part which is the duty station plus possibly an extension of that which could be things like a clinic, detachment, or other placement plus a five digit code to go with it. We can tell you better info after you get the orders.

From what i read out of this you have:
Naval Hospital Camp Lejeume with a field hospital detactment(? the fh). We need to see what your five digit uic details you to. The next step is to call the hospital personnel office and find out where exactly you are going so you can contact the command and get some info. |

You check in to and you will be working at the Naval Hospital. Your platform will be the Fleet Hospital.

For the benefit of those who may not know, can someone elaborate as to the difference between the base Naval Hospital and a Fleet Hospital and their locations?

The Naval Hospital is a large brick building not too far inside the main gate. Doctors, nurses, Corpsmen, and civilians work there and provide care to Sailors, Marines, and their families.
The Fleet Hospital exists on paper in the form of rosters and BOMs. It also is contained in boxes and cans. The FH is a deployable platform that personnel are assigned to, such as the above HM. For comparison, a Sailor reporting to the USNS COMFORT or MERCY would actually work at NNMC Bethesda or at the hospital in San Diego. For the most part anyway. Of course, the above Corpsman may work at one of several clinics in the area that fall under the responsibility of NH CLNC. |
