What determines which FMTB (West/East) I go to?

I know that for Marine Corps boot camp, women aren't allowed to go to Camp Pendleton, and as for men, it depends upon which side of the Mississippi River you are on, but is it the same for FMTB? What is going to determine which one I go to?

Marine Corps boot camp is located at two locations:
  1. MCRD Parris Island - South Carolina
  2. MCRD San Diego, California
Although a small portion of Marine recruit training (Rifle Range) is taught at Camp Pendleton, it's not where the official boot camp is located.

Assignment to FMTB:
I've heard of people who have enlisted on the East Coast get sent to FMTB West and vice versa for West Coast folks. I believe the deciding factor, for males, is dependent upon school seat availability.

All females, if assigned, attend FMTB East - Camp Lejeune, North Carolina

Not sure exactly 'when', however the FMTB-West Schedule of Courses has had the following message up for some time now.
Note: (1) All females students are directed for training to FMTB (East)
Then, when you look at FMTB-East Schedule of Courses, the following message appears as a note for their FMST courses, for each class that is marked with an asterisk:
* Maximum of xx-female students can be assigned per class.
