Shooting at Ft. Hood, keep family in your thoughts please

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33678801...me_and_courts/

Please keep Ft. Hood in your thoughts and prayers...DH entire family is stationed there. MIL/FIL at the hospital are in MassCas mode, SIL is locked down in her office and BIL is out patrolling I assume. The middle SIL is picking up all the kids from school (thank God they go off base). Not sure when we will get more info, DH talked to his dad and all he could say was "I am fine, I have to go".

Reporting 7 killed and more than 20 wounded.

So far I know of 31 injured and 12 fatalities. With the main shooter being one of the fatalities. Two other shooters have been detained.

Says that the shooter is still alive, as is the officer who shot him. Also the other two who were detained were not actually other shooters, and were released recently.

Shooter is critically injured and the first responder who took him down is still alive.
Shooter was an Army psychiatrist.

FMFIDC heard from both of his parents last night. When he spoke to his mom she was truly unaware of what had happened at the readiness center and was simply in MassCas mode. They are both OR nurses and were in and out of different ORs throughout the evening. They were relieved around 10pm and headed home; I can't imagine how physically and emotionally exhausted they must be. FIL shared info with DH about what he was hearing from the injured...I won't share it here b/c I think it is privileged info and is probably being used as part of the investigations and I don't want a black SUV pulling up in front of my house to ask me questions

Praying and keeping in my thoughts all those who are affected by this senseless act. It is not an Army thing, or a Ft. Hood thing...it is a MILITARY THING. The soldiers in that readiness center weren't just from Ft. Hood, they were from ALL OVER.
