bedwetting in bootcamp

Hello everyone, this is kind of an embarising situation but i figured i would come here before signing any contracts.. You see ive wanted to be a corpsman for a long time, im almost dead set on it. But you see i have a very mild case of bedwetting (maybe two or three times a year) and dont know what will happen if i had one accident during basic.. Like i know its an automatic discharge but would they really discharge you for one or two incidents? Like i want to join so bad and dont want this too hold me backbut more then likely i wont have an accident during bootcamp but its all about what if.. Any advice or stories would be much appreciated!! Also could i persuade the RDC to let it slide if im a hard worker and very dedicated??

I have no clue as to how the regulations with this situation would work..

I do know that not disclosing it on an enlistment contract and them having the resulting problem while at boot would result in what is called a "fraudulent enlistment."

At that point depending on medical notes from a doctor, how far you are in training, and other factors you could be given a page 13, ad sep, or other possibilities.

I am sure the others will add some more info shortly on the topic.

During your Recruiting process, you will be required to complete the following form. You want to answer truthfully on this, regardless if somebody may suggest to do otherwise.

Click this ===> Medical Prescreen of Medical History Report - DD FORM 2807-2

Page 3, Section 2a, Under the question, "HAVE YOU EVER HAD OR DO YOU NOW HAVE" - Bed wetting since age 12?

A yes answer will necessitate the Recruiter to ...
  • (4) Call MEPS Medical Section to discuss examinee's medical history BEFORE sending the individual in for physical examination.

Sounds like you are rationalizing not answering 'yes' to the question.

Note: It's a felony offense if you lie to get into the military. Should you get away with it and later found out, it is also an offense of Article 83 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).

That is a question for the Recruiter and the MEPs Medical department.

If you wet your bed in RTC you will be shown the door.

You may be prosecuted for fraudulent enlistment or perjury but most people have better things to do.

You can do exercises and implement preventive practices to minimize your chance of a problem.

I recommend you thoroughly research your condition and speak openly with your family members who also have the condition in order to use their experiences to learn even more.

The risk of discovery does not end upon graduation from RTC. You will still be shown the door if discovered later. You could likely be teased and taunted mercilessly as well.

There are other opportunities to "serve" besides military service.

The military world and the business world both prefer individuals who can use proper writing skills in their correspondence.

Lets say you could get in, but lets say you wet the bed during boot....people are jacked up when the pressure is on, you try to find something wrong with someone and exploit to one's own amusement

i'm not saying it will for sure happen, but i highly think you will be teased to no end if caught bed wetting...not because it is your fault but because recruits are bored and want something to entertain themselves

and think about your training command/first command
you want to be the guy in corps school that your class talks about that wets himself?
or you check into your command get your roommate...then an accident happens? or even worse you have an accident, then fail your room inspection because of the odor or something

a lot of things to think about mate

But of course...we all hope that you can find a way to control it or maybe even permanently fix it
